Saturday Movie Night: The Fault In (My Feels) Our Stars

TFIOS's Movie Poster
Hi. Okay, so last June 12, 2014, we (my friends and I) watched The Fault in Our Stars. To be completely honest, I didn't cry even a single tear when I read the book. I was just like, "Okay, so Augustus Waters died. (I believe this is a universal spoiler, right?) That's too bad. I pity Hazel." But then, after watching the movie, I was so emotionally fucked up. Yes, the movie was just that good. This is just my personal opinion, but I think that the movie was way better than the book.

The cast. OH. MY. FREAKING. OLYMPIAN. GODS. Shailene Woodley plus Ansel Elgort? Definitely a perfect choice. Not much people would agree with me, because they'd say that Ermagerd. They're siblings in Divergent. Why would they be lovers in TFIOS? but no. I do not agree with you. I suggest you watch the movie first before saying that.

The acting. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. The acting was so perfect!! They did a very good interpretation of everything in the movie. The scene where Hazel was having a seizure thing, it was awesome! I mean, you could really feel the intensity of the scene, and you could also feel how much Hazel was hurting. Gus's gas station scene. This was when I started crying. I mean, ugh. Dude, how can you not cry at this point? But my tears really became waterfall-ish when the Amsterdam thing happened. Then I was crying an ocean during Isaac's pre-funeral eulogy. UGH.

The effects. To be honest, the idea of cartoon-ish pop-ups that appear whenever Hazel receives a text message or an email was actually pretty cute. BUT, those pop-ups made the movie more chiclit-ish. And TFIOS is definitely not a chiclit.

The songs. I have no words for the songs, except for perfect.

My Favorite Lines?

"We may not look like much, but we have 5 legs, 2 pairs of eyes, 2 and a half pairs of working lungs, and a dozen more eggs. And if I were you, I'd go back inside." This isn't exactly what Gus said, but it's close enough. Haha. It made me laugh so hard I can't even!!

Gus said this when Hazel admitted that she used her one (and only) wish to go to Disneyland. IT WAS SO CUTE GRRRRR.

Sad truth, isn't it?

--------------------------------------------

To sum up this post, I really liked loved The Fault in Our Stars movie much more than the book. If you still haven't watched it, I strongly suggest that you do.

How I Felt After Watching The Movie:

DISCLAIMER: The pictures are totally not mine. :)

I suggest you listen to Terrible Things by Mayday Parade.

THE RATING.

This magnificent movie deserves 5 Vaporeons! To quote John Green, author of TFIOS, I fell in love with this movie like how you often fall asleep. Slowly, and then all at once.
